Battered Pets, Battered PeoplePosted by Janet Muniz, July 17, 2008 at 02:25 AM by Janet Muniz While I was catching up on my reading, I came across a heartbreaking article in the June issue of Oprah's O Magazine. "The Case of the Battered Pet" chronicles the evidence some vets are collecting which suggests that animals are all too frequently the collateral victims of domestic violence. Abusers have found a way to use a person's pet as a tool to control their victim by threatening harm and death – and actually acting upon it. Cat PeoplePosted by Janet Muniz, July 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM by Janet Muniz I have no doubt that we're all affected by the changes happening in the world today. Gas prices. Food and travel expense. Cats All Over the WorldPosted by Janet Muniz, July 03, 2008 at 08:00 AM by Janet Muniz On our inaugural night in Spain, sitting happily in Madrid's Plaza Mayor sipping Fino sherry and enjoying tapas as the setting sun struck the artfully painted walls of the square; I look up at the clear blue sky and spot a kitty gingerly trotting across the roofline of one of the buildings. "El gato!" I exclaim, and my husband and I laugh as we watch the little kitty traverse the entire length of the building, disappearing on the other side. My husband snapped a picture, but this little gato is just too small to see in it. For months our own kitties, Sofie and Sam, endured us calling them, "los gatos," "el gato chico," "el gato chica," in preparation for our Spanish sojourn. Kitties all over the world capture our imagination. Here's one off the Costa del Sol in Spain. Photo courtesy of Marty Muniz Read Entire Post...
